You are hereHome / Client spotlight – Anu Chandra

20 Oct 2021

The client spotlight features a quarterly interview with a Wilson Wright client and showcases their experiences during their business career.  The programme allows a client to tell their story in their own words, focusing on key achievements and the impact they have to the wider community.

This month, our client spotlight looks behind the scenes with Anu Chandra, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer at Mum & You. Our client is a provider for mother and baby products which range from premium, eco-friendly nappies to plastic free biodegradable wipes and skincare.

Why did you set up your business?

Mum & You was founded by us as a ‘one part social’ company, with the stated objective of supporting mothers to better support their children and help create a better world for them. Mum & You is a company operated by mums for mums with support from some dads too.

Our team consists of talented mums who use their own insights to create products for other mums to help support their journey and make this easier day to day.

We donate products regularly to mums who just need basic support to survive. Experience shows that mums who are better supported can transform the lives of not only their own children but also their personal society.

What was/is your biggest business challenge?

Our biggest challenge is being able to tell our story and make people aware of what we are trying to achieve. The impact of what we want to do can only be as powerful as the number of people we can reach. Currently, as is to be expected, logistics and costs are a huge business challenge.

What was the best business advice you have received that you would like to share with us?

One which we struggle to follow but strongly believe in! Keep it simple.

Trying to be everything to everyone is a recipe for disaster. We are trying to follow our own advice.

What do you feel is your key achievement / milestone in your career?

I think it has been a huge achievement to create a consumer product company which is operated almost entirely by talented Mums.

In addition, we have developed a high growth company, but also one that will help Mums and therefore children attain better outcomes for themselves.
