Days/Hours worked:  Monday-Friday,9-5 (35-hour week). The firm has a flexitime policy. The expectation of trainees is to be in our central London office on the majority of working days.

The Position:

Our successful graduate (or school leaver) trainee will be supporting the Head of Tax with administrating the Tax Department.  They will gain experience, qualifications and knowledge in many areas including, assisting with billing, workflows and other matters as necessary.

You will be part of the wider Tax team from the moment you start with us and with the right level of support you will also work with a broad range of clients to deliver a high quality compliance tax service to clients both independently and as part of a team.  

The complex and diverse nature of taxation means that tax advisers rapidly develop areas of specialist knowledge. The specific areas of Taxation that will challenge the successful candidate are:

    • Private Individual Tax
    • Corporate Tax

At the end of a successful period in tax administration we will offer a study package towards ATT and CTA qualification.

You will join as part of an annual cohort of new starters and will find a group around you of like-minded professionals charting their route through to qualification. Within this cohort, and through interacting with previous intakes a year or two further along their journeys, we expect you will find a friendly, supportive network within which you can share experiences, drive each other forwards and grow technically and professionally.

​Day to Day Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Monitoring work flows
  • Filing and managing tax files
  • Distributing post
  • Preparing billing reports
  • Organising taxmeetings and seminars
  • Taking Notes of Meetings
  • To support the Tax Team with preparation of tax calculations
  • Involvement in written and verbal communications with HMRC
  • To ensure sound knowledge of a client and its industry by researching background information and useful publications
  • To start to build client relationships
  • Communicate with the Tax Team on any issues or findings
  • Attend all training courses as required
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as required

Qualifications, Experience & Skills required

  • Minimum of 260 UCAS points (to have achieved in the same academic year, from your best 3 A Levels and excluding General Studies).
  • Grade B or above in GCSE English Language and Maths or equivalent qualification

Training Contract & Study Support

At the end of a successful period in tax administration we will offer a study package towards ATT and CTA qualification.
